A portrait of Clifford D. Simak

A traditional art assignment from an illustration class.
Had to pick a writer we like and, using photo reference, paint their portrait in a highly stylized manner, borrowing techniques from some artist of our choice. Went with my favourite sci-fi grandmaster :)
While I don't think I get any points for artist emulation (thought of André Derain, but ended up doing more of my own thing), I do think I managed to make him recognizable enough.
